We are Secure Community Network (SCN), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) serving as the official safety and security organization of the Jewish community in North America.

We are excited to add a creative, versatile, and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to our team . The Graphic Designer will play a crucial role in visually communicating SCN's mission, values, and information across various platforms and mediums.

Our headquarters are located in the Chicago area, however if you are outside the Chicago area, remote opportunities are available.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent design skills, a strong understanding of visual communication principles, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling visual content.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

  • Design graphics for social media, website, and email distributions, ensuring consistency with SCN's brand identity and messaging.
  • Design and regularly update 1-pagers, multi-page resources, and other formatted materials on a variety of organizationally relevant topics.
  • Design routine external communications, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Regularly review and refresh SCN's brand guidance to ensure it remains current and effective.
  • Create and update swag designs for company events, reinforcing SCN's brand and mission.
  • Proactively recommend and design best-practice graphic materials like banners and other content accompaniments.
  • Collaborate with various departments to enhance the visual quality of SCN's communications and materials.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to SCN's brand guidelines while exploring creative ways to elevate the visual identity.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in graphic design, preferably in a nonprofit or security-related environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) and other relevant design software.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design skills across various mediums.
  • Excellent visual communication skills with a keen eye for typography, color, and layout.
  • Experience in designing for both print and digital platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with current design trends and best practices.
  • Proficiency in dynamic graphic content design and video editing in Adobe Premiere and After Effects are encouraged but not required.

Founded in 2004 under the auspices of The Jewish Federations of North America and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, SCN serves as the central organization dedicated exclusively to the safety and security of the American Jewish community, working across 146 federations, 50 partner organizations, over 300 independent communities, and other partners in the public, private, nonprofit, and academic sectors.
