Summary

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), you'll play a vital role in delivering rapid deployment healthcare support at Medical Special Needs Shelters across Louisiana, in close collaboration with the Louisiana Department of Health.

Your primary focus will be providing comprehensive mental health services, including assessments, counseling, and advocacy, to individuals, families, and groups affected by disaster incidents.

Location : This position will support Emergency Response efforts in the state of Louisiana.

Possible site locations may include but are not limited to the following cities in the state of Louisiana : New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Alexandra, Lake Charles, Lafayette, Thibodaux.

Hammond, Monroe, and Bossier City.

Job Duties :

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' psychosocial needs and mental health status.
  • Collaborate with Louisiana Program Management staff to develop individualized transition plans for shelter residents.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to patients facing acute emotional distress or psychiatric emergencies.
  • Work closely with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Uphold ethical standards and guidelines set forth by professional organizations such as the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and state licensing boards.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills :

  • Hold a master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Possess an active, unrestricted, and current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the US.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience working with diverse populations in a mental health setting, with at least one year of Emergency Response Experience.
  • Ability to support a 24 / 7 shelter operation.
  • Ability to work safely in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborative approach to enhance safety culture and quality.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds and performing physical tasks as needed.
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Proficient in assessment and diagnostic skills to address residents' needs and barriers.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and interventions for treating various mental health disorders and conditions.
  • Commitment to cultural competency, diversity, and inclusion in clinical practice.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages may be advantageous.
  • Availability to respond within 48 hours to designated locations when required.
