Summary
Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the production team to achieve required production and quality standards in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
Also responsible for promoting and maintaining positive working relationships within the production group.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Production :
- Developing and implementing production plans, schedules, and strategies to meet production objectives
- Monitoring production processes to ensure that they are operating safely and efficiently, and identifying areas for improvement
- Coordinating and assigning tasks to production and sanitation associates, and ensuring that all associates receive appropriate training to perform routine duties effectively
- Maintaining production and sanitation SWIs, and SOPs, and ensuring both are in place and followed
- Enforcing established policies and systems, updating equipment, and following up on recommendations
- Managing associate time and attendance
Minimum Education
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture or related discipline.
Experience Requirements
- 0-3 years related work experience.
- Computer literate with skills in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with various industry accepted procedures, including HACCP, SPC, etc., and plant efficiency as it related to yield, lbs.
birds, pmh, line speeds and automatic process equipment.
- Requires prior supervisory experience with proven track record of the ability to lead people and get results.
- Must be able to organize multiple protocols / projects and complete on schedule.
- Strong customer orientation.
- Must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization; possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to travel to other facilities and plants for meetings and / or Company business.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
When in a plant environment :
- Exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces
- Exposure to temperatures of 28 degrees to degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and % humidity.
- Exposure to o noise ranges of 50 db to db.
- May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
- May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
