Summary :
This position is committed to working with individuals, groups and college students in the residence hall environment. Candidates work period is for an academic year (August 15 -May 15).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assist the Residence Hall Director in implementing, monitoring and reporting on all programs, designed to promote the growth and development of students.
- Assist the Residence Hall Director in orientation of new students to the University as well as the Residence Hall.
- Assist the Residence Hall Director in enforcing Residence Hall policies and regulations.
- Assist the Residence Hall Director in maintaining records and reports for incidents, damages and repairs.
- Counsel and advise students and / or refers to appropriate resource persons.
- Duties may be performed or assigned on other designated shifts and / or buildings as necessary.
- Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.) :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as a security guard, hotel front desk agent, customer service representative, counseling, group work, or human relations training is a plus.
Conditions of Employment :
- Required to work on campus during usual break periods (i.e. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break, etc.).
- Must be able to work on the weekend.
Physical Requirement :
- Must be able to climb several flights of stairs
- Must be able to stand for a long period of time
- Must be able to lift up a minimum of 20 pounds
