Be the main point of contact for employee relations for the Orange County Campus (Operations). You will work closely with site leadership to drive employee relations using your expertise to minimize risk, align work to meet business needs and improve employee morale and culture, while building manager skill sets, providing advice and coaching employees and managers.
Work with leaders, managers and employees to provide advice and coach both parties on all employee relations issues. Provide strong partnership on performance management, disciplinary processes, restructuring activity, legal issues, investigations, conflict management, etc.
Your work involves assessing and resolving complex employee relations matters ensuring consistency across client groups and alignment with Medtronic practices.
You will help to ensure a fair and consistent approach to Medtronic's policies and procedures promoting a positive culture within the business, while minimizing risks.
Provide a single point of contact for employee relations issues to ensure clear communication and efficiency in resolving matters.
This position will reside in our Irvine, CA office and will work per the local hybrid guidelines.
A Day in the Life Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Counsels and provides partnership to employees and all levels of management across the full spectrum of employee relations matters in alignment with our practices, policies, and local labor legislation.
- This work includes proactive workplace initiatives and strategies; workplace investigations and internal reviews; performance improvement and discipline processes;
end of employment / restructuring; labor relations; crisis management; and, general employee relations coaching and conflict resolution.
- Develops and leads proactive employee and labor relations strategies to contribute to a positive work environment by leveraging data, addressing areas of opportunity and minimizing risk.
- Plays key leadership role in restructuring initiatives, resulting in employee transitions.
Must Have : Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree with 2+ years of Employee Relations experience, or an advanced degree

- PHR Certification
- Experience supporting multiple locations
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment law
- Demonstrated knowledge of ER procedures and processes
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic, proactive partnership to leaders
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc)
- Experience in project management
- Experience in program / process design, as well as process improvement skill set
- Experience supporting various functions at all levels of the organization
