Painter
$22.00 / hr
M-Thur 5am-3 : 30pm, OT as required
Purpose :
Performs a variety of pre-paint and paint procedures to prepare surfaces for paint application including sanding, masking, and inspection, body repair, spray techniques and painting using manual and semi-automatic machines.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities :
- Prepare paint area appropriately to result in good paint application that meet paint specification criteria
- Paint components using appropriate spray techniques
- Knowledgeable on how to adjust the spray equipment
- Prepare the bus to mask the areas that will be painted
- Knowledgeable of proper spray techniques
- Ability to mix paints and work with solvents
- Identify paint defects and root cause
- Understand basic safety precautions when handling paints / solvents
- Perform task in full gear of painter’s PPE
Basic Requirements :
- At least 3 months of automotive painting work or 6 months vocational school painting training.
- Must be able to comprehend the English language.
Additional Requirements :
- Ability to repair and paint defects
- Ability to perform painting in hard to reach and awkward positions
Desired Skills :
- Experience with automotive body repairs
- At least a year of automotive hands on experience
- Good mechanical aptitude
