Education Requirements : Bachelor’s degree with a Professional Educator License as a teacher, counselor, or social worker preferred.
Experience in education or related experience in dealing with at-risk youth.
Performance Responsibilities :
- Maintain a professional environment at all times
- Meets with school staff, students, and parents regarding academic and mental health issues
- Conducts school conferences and attend meetings dealing with school related issues
- Provides options for academics, mental health, and community-based services including prosocial activities
- Completes reports and submits to the Assistant Regional Superintendent / Coordinator of Alternative Programs
- Keeps a log of activities
- Supports individual service plans for all students on active caseload from Alt Programs
- Meets regularly with the Assistant Regional Superintendent / Coordinator of Alternative Programs regarding handling of specific cases and programmatic needs
- Makes referrals to community agencies and programs or other ROE personnel for more in-depth assistance
- Meets with school district administration for networking and coordination
- Facilitates presentations for schools, parents, and community agencies
- Shares information about vocational / educational opportunities within Kane County and with Kane County Workforce Development
- Enrolls and monitors students, parents, and teachers in online learning platform
- Participate in community agency meetings and networks
- Aids in the development of protocols for the grant
- All requirements of the Community Partnership Grant
- Any and all responsibilities assigned by the Regional Superintendent or Cabinet level supervisor
