Position Summary

The student worker will help the Biology Lab Coordinator to prep and clean-up labs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Washing, cleaning and putting-up labware. Cleaning and organizing various lab equipment. Cleaning and waste disposal of lab surfaces and trash. Preparation of solutions used in the various labs. Autoclave and preparation of media for bacterial labs. PCR and gel electrophoresis procedures. Photo-documentation and annotation of gel electrophoresis results. Other duties as needed or assigned. Education, Certifications and / or Licenses Experience Preference given to declared Biology major students. Preference given to students who have demonstrated aseptic techniques or have taken a Microbiology course. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Able to use mathematical calculation in preparation of solutions and media. Able to listen effectively and follow orders. Needs to be reliable and consistent in work activities. Able to use Word and Excel.
