VFD Technician

Position : Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Technician

Employment Type : Full-Time

Location : Carmel, IN

Salary Range : $65,000–$100,000 (Depending on experience and qualifications)

Role Summary :

The VFD Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintaining Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems at client sites. This role requires strong electrical knowledge, hands-on field experience, and excellent problem-solving skills. The technician will work independently and as part of a team to ensure optimal performance and reliability of VFD equipment567.

Key Responsibilities :

• Install, commission, and configure VFD units for HVAC and industrial applications.
• Troubleshoot and repair VFDs from multiple manufacturers, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
• Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and system upgrades as needed567.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency service calls.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Provide basic training and operational guidance to clients on VFD systems.
• Maintain accurate service records, complete work orders, and communicate job progress to management and customers.
• Adhere to all safety standards and protocols, including OSHA requirements.
• Collaborate with the electrical and controls team to deliver integrated solutions.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, and order replacements as necessary.
