Job Summary :

Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain a variety of machine tools for fabricating precision components and parts. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret complex technical drawings, and a solid understanding of machining processes.

Key Responsibilities :

Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drills to produce precision parts.

Interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.

Select and install the appropriate tools, speeds, and feeds for each machining operation.

Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure product quality and adherence to tolerances.

Perform routine machine maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.

Inspect and verify completed parts against specifications and perform final quality checks.

Adjust machine settings as needed during production to optimize performance and ensure accuracy.

Identify and troubleshoot issues related to dimensions, tool wear, or machine malfunctions.

Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other machinists to meet production goals and deadlines.

Qualifications :

Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of machine tool operations, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.

Proficient in using precision measurement tools : micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in machining is a plus.

Preferred Skills :

Experience working with CNC machines and a basic understanding of CNC programming.

Familiarity with CAD / CAM software.

Industry-recognized certification (e.g., NIMS or similar) is an advantage.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to lift and maneuver materials up to 50 lbs.

Ability to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.

Manual dexterity and precision handling of tools and measuring instruments.

Comfortable working in a noisy, sometimes dusty shop environment.
