Armed Security Officer - Dispensary

Position Summary

The Armed Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and regulatory compliance of the dispensary premises, staff, clients, and products. This role includes monitoring entrances and exits, conducting patrols, deterring theft or unauthorized access, and responding to incidents in accordance with company policy and applicable state cannabis regulations. Officers must maintain a high standard of professionalism, discretion, and customer service in a retail healthcare environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide a visible, armed deterrent at entrances and other high-risk areas.
• Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized individuals are permitted entry.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of the dispensary premises, including product storage areas, employee entrances, and customer waiting areas.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, security threats, or non-compliance with company or state regulations.
• Prevent and respond to incidents involving theft, trespassing, loitering, or disorderly conduct.
• Monitor security cameras, alarms, and access control systems as assigned.
• Conduct bag checks, ID verification, or screening as required by dispensary policy.
• Escort staff during cash handling procedures, product deliveries, or closing operations.
• Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or threats to safety; contact law enforcement or EMS as needed.
• Complete detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift hand-off notes.
• Enforce state cannabis regulations, safety policies, and company code of conduct with professionalism and consistency.
• Maintain and carry a licensed firearm in accordance with applicable laws and company use-of-force policy.
