The Role
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for executing and improving key QMS processes on-site at our Pueblo, CO facility to drive improvements in FEUS processes and product quality, at a pace consistent with the needs of our strategic customers. This individual will work closely with the Manufacturing Process Engineers, Quality Control personnel, and Supplier Quality Engineer to identify and correct the root causes of unacceptable raw material, process, and / or product shifts.

Job Description
Key responsibilities for this role include :
- Strong knowledge and experience as a quality assurance resource for data analysis, problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Support root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.
- Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control. Interact with customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel.
- Actively participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Support the manufacturing groups to design, implement, and document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection.
- Support consistent metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring systems effectiveness. Interface with suppliers and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and ensure that effective corrective action is implemented.
- Drive ISO-9001 initiatives in order to maintain certifications.
- Lead the delivery of medium to large improvement projects through the implementation of Six Sigma and project management tools.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Product management to identify and reduce sources of chronic customer complaints, manufacturing and laboratory quality issues, waste / scrap generation, and improve overall production inefficiencies.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the organization on Lean principles, by promoting the use of Six Sigma methodology (DMAIC, Kaizen, etc.)
- Create key process flows and / or value stream maps.
- Facilitate and mentor team on FMEAs
- Perform capability and other statistical assessments to meet organization goals in reducing process variability.
- Drive problem solving methodologies (8D / MBPS) to find root cause of observed defects, devise a short-term contaminant strategy, and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurring problems, per internal and external customer expectations, including facilitating customer taskforce activities.

PAY RANGE : The pay range for this role is estimated $95,000 / yr. - $115 / 000 / yr. with actual wage based on candidate's qualifications and experience.
