Under the direction of the CFO, Controller, and Manager of Accounting, the will support a variety of financial reporting and accounting related duties including preparation and review of month-end journal entries, GAAP and statutory reporting, analysis and conversions, audit support and documentation, and regulatory inquiries and submissions. He / she will assist management in researching NAIC, DOI, US GAAP, SAP, and AICPA reporting requirements, including interpretation of such materials to comply with regulatory reporting requirements, and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual filings.

Specifically, the successful candidate will :

• Evaluate new transactions and products to determine how they should be treated under statutory accounting principles
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and disclosures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory accounting policies
• Assist with statutory audits and coordinate the audit schedule
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and state and local reporting requirements

The Senior Accountant will also collaborate with internal and external resources including accounting staff and relevant contractors / vendors, to effectively discharge their duties and provide timely and relevant decision-making materials, and recommendation to senior management. He / she is expected to work closely with other members of the finance team as well as other business units within the organization.
