Electrical Estimator

We are seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our team. The role involves evaluating project plans, specifications, and bid documents to create accurate and competitive bid proposals. The Estimator will play a key role in calculating costs, consulting with clients and vendors, and preparing detailed bid documents. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in electrical construction and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate project plans and specifications, bid documents, and other relevant documents to identify requirements for bid proposals.
  • Calculate the cost of electrical construction by reviewing and evaluating available documents and site conditions.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and other department personnel to discuss and formulate estimates, resolving any issues that arise.
  • Attend job site walk-throughs with other estimators to assess field conditions that may affect construction, prospective bids, or pre-construction designs.
  • Prepare bid documents including specific scope letters for each project, evaluations with adjustments for buy-outs, labor rate, and productivity.
  • Identify any inconsistent issues, conflicts, and other problems in the documents.
  • Provide accurate, detailed, and competitive estimates.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent with completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship Program and field experience, or a bachelor's degree in construction management or similar studies.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in commercial, industrial, and service projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of the electrical field, materials, and construction methods.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (N.E.C) and local codes.
  • Proficient in MS Suite, Outlook, and experience with Accubid and AutoCAD.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Outgoing and personable demeanor.
  • Proficiency in estimating software like Accubid, Bluebeam, or Plan Swift.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices.
  • Experience with project management, construction management, and preconstruction

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, Texas.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $62.50 / hr.
