The Medical Assistant provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. Prepares patients during office visits and assists patients and family members before, during, and after a doctor's visit.

Responsibilities include :

• Preparing patients for examination and assisting providers during treatment / procedures, examinations, and testing of patients.
• Preparing, restocking, and sterilizing examination rooms, procedure rooms, and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures.
• Recording patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
• Measuring, recording, and documenting vital signs.
• Where applicable, performing phlebotomy, injections, and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.
• Educating patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider.
• Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Sterilizing medical instruments per established standards and procedures.
• Relaying messages from patients and front office staff to providers.
• Representing the office in a professional manner. Treating all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
• Participating in team activities and professional development activities.
• Attending required meetings.
• Demonstrating and embodying the Women's Care mission and core values.
• Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
