Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Safety & Compliance Manager role in Cherokee, IA. Our client is a well-established industry leader known for innovation and a commitment to delivering the highest quality products. Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and coordinate incident investigations, root cause analyses, and follow-up corrective measures.
  • Manage company-wide compliance initiatives, including training, documentation, and reporting.
  • Partner with management and department heads to promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Maintain required safety records, permits, and regulatory documentation.
  • Oversee environmental compliance programs, including waste management, spill prevention, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training for employees at all levels, ensuring awareness of best practices and compliance standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or audits.
  • Stay up to date on changes in safety regulations, industry best practices, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of safety and compliance management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills.
  • Ability to conduct thorough investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with EHS software systems is a plus.
  • Candidates must live within 30 minutes of the plant or be willing to relocate within 6 months of employment. Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate.
