American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2 years of OR trauma experience and a compact or SD RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Surgical Services department in a hospital setting with 12 operating roomsPatient population includes surgical cases such as Urology, Neuro, Ortho, Robotic, General, Podiatry, and ENTPre-Op, PACU, and ICU-level care required post-operativelyPatient ratios : OR 1 : 1, Pre-Op 1 : 2, PACU Phase I 1 : 1 or 1 : 2, PACU Phase II 1 : 2-3Uses EPIC EMR system; experience preferred but not required10-hour variable shifts with weekend rotation and on-call requirements (overnight per week and every 3rd weekend)Floating may be required to Pre-Op, PACU, or floor as neededJoin a multidisciplinary team with RN / First Assist, surgical techs, anesthesiologists, nurse clinicians, and aidesOne week of unit and facility orientation providedMust cover 2 out of 4 major holidays as scheduled15-minute response time required when on call; sleep rooms provided as neededFree parking and scrubs are providedFacility is traveler-friendly with strong support for renewals\n \n Requirements\n
Active RN license from SD or a compact stateCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredCompletion of an approved nursing education programMinimum 2 years of recent OR experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma settingDemonstrated skills in ortho-trauma (including ORIF, ex-fix, amputations), neuro (craniotomy, spinal), general, and robotic proceduresExperience in a tertiary care center requiredPre-Op and PACU experience, including ICU-level skillset for PACUTravelers must reside more than 100 miles from the facilityNot open to first-time travelers without approvalPermanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler\n Benefits\n
