Lead the development of Controls architecture for large multiple module system and the engineering team.
Program control systems for cam, servo, and air operated stations, along with test and electrical devices.
Coach peers in all aspects of machine design, programming, and organization and contribute to the development of Controls Engineers.
Writes and debugs PLC, robot, machine vision, and PC-based object-oriented code.
Programs HMI devices with ease of operation in mind.
Ensure the electrical design is functional, robust, and cost effective.
Innovate and use good judgment to incorporate BBS Automation standards, GAMP5 and regulatory requirements.
Research and specify appropriate purchased and preferred components.
Create functional specifications, flow diagrams, Bill of Materials, organize release packages, and update schematics.
Participate in internal and customer design reviews, installations, and service calls when needed.
Guide Electricians in wiring and codes. Support software validation requirements.
Continues open discussions with Controls Engineering Manager and Controls Engineering Group Leaders on how to improve group dynamics, accuracy, reliability, ease of construction, durability, and throughput.
Clearly communicates project status updates and technical reports.
Participate in Proof of Principle studies and help with concepting new applications.
Work with suppliers to find / develop the most functional and economical solutions to design issues.
Work under the confines of the project schedule and budget; Convey this urgency to others.
Problem-solve with Mechanical Builders, debug software issues, and update all appropriate documentation.
Communicate ideas and comprehend information both verbally and in written form.
Work closely with Mechanical Engineering and Build and exhibit objectivity and openness to others views.
Set and maintain departmental goals in keeping with company objectives.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of BBSC standards.
Support and participate in Quality Management Program.
Provide necessary documentation and support for machinery Operating Manuals.
Stays focused and understands the sense of urgency.
Works well in a team environment and promotes sharing of knowledge through training and mentoring.
Keeps abreast of current industry product developments.
Domestic or International travel or extend work day if required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related area
10+ Years' experience in controls engineering
Minimum 5 years experience with Rockwell PLCs w / Rockwell Kinetix servos
Minimum 2 years experience with Siemens PLCs w / Siemens Sinamics servos
Robot experience preferred
Vision experience preferred
Ignition experience preferred
Optional IT experience
Python scripting
AI / machine learning modelling for data analysis and predictive analytics
MySQL database and SQL language
C# (C-sharp) .Net object oriented programming
