Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.

Responsibilities

\n

  • Conduct research of submarine construction drawings using the Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) System.

\n

  • Part of a team that develops submarine shipboard alterations.
  • \n

  • Learn while working with an experienced engineering staff.
  • \n

  • Conduct static analysis of mechanical structures.
  • \n

  • Conduct hydrodynamic analyses under a variety of at-sea operational conditions.
  • \n

  • Develop models to predict performance.
  • \n

  • Assist the Design Team with material selection based on in-process stress calculations as well as commercial and / or military specifications.
  • \n

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of design and engineering products.
  • \n

  • Interface with customers and government sponsors.
  • \n \n

    Qualifications

    \n

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil or structural engineering.
  • \n

  • Ability to maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
  • \n

  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining / holding a U.S. security clearance
  • \n

  • Physically capable to conduct ship checks on United States Nuclear Submarines :
  • \n

  • Be comfortable in relatively confined spaces.
  • \n

  • Capable of climbing vertical ladders (20' - 25') within the submarine.
  • \n

  • At least two (2) years business experience in : \n
  • Working with AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor or SolidWorks.

    \n

  • Working with MATHCAD Engineering Mathematics Software (or similar software).
  • \n

  • Working with Finite Element Analysis.
  • \n

  • Working with Microsoft Office.
  • \n \n

    Pay Transparency Statement

    AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $77,600.00 / Yr. - USD $129,600.00 / Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
