Description : Position Summary
The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and documentation of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods at the Activated Carbon Plant. This position ensures materials are handled safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and procedures. The role includes frequent coordination with production, shipping / receiving, procurement, and external suppliers and drivers.
The incumbent will also perform hands-on material handling activities, including loading and unloading materials, operating forklifts and other mobile equipment, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, store, and distribute raw materials, packaging, and finished products in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using manual and electronic systems; perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Assist with shipment preparation, loading / unloading trucks, and verifying bills of lading and delivery documentation.
- Coordinate with production and logistics teams to ensure materials are available for manufacturing schedules.
- Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and drivers to ensure smooth receipt and dispatch of materials.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently; conduct pre-shift inspections and report equipment issues.
- Maintain orderly and clean inventory and storage areas, ensuring compliance with 5S and environmental standards.
- Support plant safety initiatives and immediately report unsafe conditions or near misses.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations.
Requirements : Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or logistics preferred (manufacturing environment a plus).Forklift Operator Certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).Proficient in English (reading, writing, verbal communication).Basic proficiency in business math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and simple conversions).Strong attention to detail and record keeping accuracy.Ability to use computers and inventory software systems for data entry and reporting.Safety-oriented mindset and commitment to company safety standards.Effective interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with operations, maintenance, and suppliers.Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, humidity).Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive motion, bending, and climbing stairs / ladders.Frequent standing, walking, and operating mobile equipment in an industrial environment.Work may include exposure to noise, dust, and moving mechanical parts (appropriate PPE provided).
