Certified Surgical Technician Position Overview

Dates : 5 / 12 - 8 / 16 / 25

Shift : Day Shift 0630-1500

Call Requirements : 6 days / month, 1 weekend / month

Patient Ratios : 1 : 1-2

EMR System : Cerner

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Experience : Minimum of 2 years required; certification for at least 1 year. Preferred : 3+ years of experience.
  • Certification : Must hold AHA BLS certification.

Role Description :

As a Certified Surgical Technician, you will be a vital member of the surgical team, responsible for facilitating safe and effective surgical procedures. Your duties will include :

  • Ensuring a sterile environment and proper functioning of equipment.
  • Working under the supervision of a surgeon to assist in both invasive and non-invasive procedures.
  • Assessing patients’ clinical conditions, identifying critical situations, and taking appropriate actions.

    • Work Environment :

  • Acuity Level : Adults and Pediatrics, acutely ill, with diverse medical issues.
  • Surgical Suites : 4 inpatient operating rooms, 5 outpatient operating rooms, and 2 outpatient endoscopy rooms.
  • Equipment : Familiarity with Arthrex, Steris, Olympus, and other surgical tools is essential.

    • This position does not require floating between departments and focuses on delivering high-quality surgical care in a supportive environment.
