Opportunity to join a financial firm as a Payroll Tax Compliance Manager
Seeking an experienced Payroll Tax Compliance Manager to join a global payroll team at a leading financial firm. In this critical role, you will ensure full compliance with payroll tax laws and regulations while supporting the integrity and efficiency of our payroll operations. The ideal candidate must have expertise in Canadian payroll legislation, strong analytical skills, and significant experience with Workday payroll systems. Onsite in Downtown Manhattan, up to $130K+ bonus.
Job Description
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll tax filings, remittances, and year-end reporting (e.g., T4s, RL-1s, T2200s) in compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
- Strong understanding of Canadian payroll tax filings and laws.
- Manage payroll tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Partner with internal payroll and HR teams to maintain tax setup, configuration, and compliance within Workday.
- Monitor legislative changes impacting payroll taxes and proactively implement process and system updates.
- Reconcile payroll tax accounts and ensure accurate general ledger postings.
- Lead the preparation and submission of government filings including PD7A, EHT, WSIB, and CNESST.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to payroll tax compliance.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring completeness and accuracy of records.
- Provide strategic insights on tax implications for new employment structures, benefits programs, or cross-border assignments.

The Successful Applicant
Minimum 5 years of payroll tax experience in a medium-to-large organization.In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, including federal and provincial regulations.Proven experience with Workday Payroll.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience in financial services or a similarly regulated industry is an asset.Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.Able to come onsite to the office in downtown Manhattan 5 days a week.What's on Offer
