Puzzle Box Academy is looking to hire a Preschool Teacher who will provide in-classroom learning for our preschool-aged students.
Puzzle Box Academy provides a comprehensive educational experience tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays. We focus on academic, social, behavioral, and life skills development in a supportive and structured environment.

Integrate current educational practices and materials into classroom instruction, utilizing insights from in-service training sessions.Complete ASPIRE program modules and training to Level III, including coaching observations and applying feedback accordingly.Adhere to administrative guidelines regarding all policies, rules, and procedures.Schedule and conduct meetings with parents to discuss student progress upon request and at the discretion of the Director.Maintain professionalism towards students, staff, parents, and colleagues.Ensure a safe and conducive classroom environment, following all safety protocols.Prepare and submit daily lesson plans aligned with Florida State Standards for each quarter (due Summer, Winter, and Spring Professional Development training days).Maintain both digital and hardcopy grade books, completing weekly grading requirements and providing the Director with records annually.Evaluate and document each students progress through report cards and progress reports including comments and recommendations.Organize classroom displays to create an engaging learning atmosphere at all times.Understand the curriculum and programs being implemented in the classroom.Update and maintain progress monitoring for each student monthly; meet with the Director to review the collected data as needed.Conduct academic observations for incoming students to assist with proper classroom placement.Collaborate with the clinical team to apply ABA strategies and behavior plans for students receiving ABA services through Kaleidoscope Interventions.Promote a non-threatening learning environment while maintaining good housekeeping practices.Uphold confidentiality regarding students and their families at all times.Communicate weekly with parents on classroom activities and student performance using the FACTS management system, Class Dojo application, and / or school email.Communicate any instructional coaching needs to the Director.Work independently with minimal supervision.Monitor children's physical and emotional well-being and report any signs of child abuse or neglect to the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and administration.Attend meetings, events, and seminars as required by Puzzle Box Academy or Kaleidoscope Interventions.Assist staff with student-related issues and parent communication.Participate in and help coordinate team meetings, fundraising events, open houses, and related functions.Maintain proficiency in the ASPIRE program and best practices for effective teaching.Complete 12 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by the end of the academic year.Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.Minimum Education & Experience Requirements :
Bachelors Degree, preferably in Education or Special Education.Associates degree in early childhood development or child development Associate (CDA) credential preferred.Valid Florida Department of Education Teacher Certificate, preferably in ESE or a related subject area.Valid Registered Behavior Technician Certification in good standing.Six months of experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities.Completion of background screening for Department of Children and Families (DCF) and / or Level II background screening40-hour Department of Children and Families childcare trainingValid First Aid / CPR Certification.Preschool / Kindergarten experience preferred.Job Type : Full-time
