Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry position requiring a NC or compact license, Epic experience, and weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital-based Med / Surg Telemetry unit
  • Provides care for adult patients with typical Med / Surg Tele caseloads
  • Patient ratios are 1 : 5-6
  • Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment
  • Uses Epic for charting (experience required)
  • Day shift schedule (4x12 hours), 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 00 PM
  • Requires working every other weekend
  • Floating within scope to like units and between campus locations is required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Royal blue and white scrubs required
  • Return staff must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers are limited to 2 contracts before a 6-month break is required
  • Pre-start online modules (4-10 hours) must be completed before beginning the assignment
  • Manager approval required for requested time off; maximum 4 days, with only one holiday approved
  • Holiday coverage may be required depending on assigned shift

    • Requirements

  • Active NC or compact state RN license required at time of application
  • Minimum of 2 years recent Med / Surg Telemetry RN experience required
  • Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
  • Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
  • No license or background hits in the past year
