Studio Manager - Position Summary
The Studio Manager is the primary influence in building the Power Life community. They are part of every aspect of the studio including community, classes, retail, and operations. Their goal is to ensure the studio and schedule remain intact while meeting the needs of our current and future students. We are looking for someone who demonstrates strong organization, time management, and communication skills. They must be able to troubleshoot issues using critical thinking and positively lead by example to create the best experience for students and teachers.
Schedule Expectations
- Regular Studio Manager Hours : Monday – Thursday 9 am – 5 / 6 pm, Friday, 9 am – 1 pm
- Hours may vary pending the needs of the studio and class schedule. On-call hours may be required on evenings, weekends, or holidays pending needs of the studio and class schedule.
- Studio Opening : More evening and weekend hours will be required as we prepare for the studio to open.
- There are occasional evenings and weekends that come with events outside of studio hours and these will be planned in advance.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Operations
Create, maintain, and evaluate the class schedule for the studio.Evaluate class performance based upon attendance, format, and instructor.Communicate and make any necessary adjustments depending upon the weather.Troubleshoot issues as they arise at the studio (HVAC, plumbing, Sonos, technology) and work with Director of Operations on a solution or course of action.Order and maintain studio inventory and cleaning supplies so that all resources and amenities are always available for students and instructors.Manage studio retail and create visually appealing displays. Ensure retail gets put into inventory and out in the studio in a timely manner and as instructed.Maintain the highest level of cleanliness, organization, and functionality of studio space.Participate in Quarterly Clean to provide a deep clean to the studio.Ensure the front desk is organized and processes are up to date.Garden walk at the start of your shift and end of your shift to notice small details that need to be taken care of (load of towels, pick up trash from the floor, adjust retail, update fliers that are out of date).Community and Relationship Development
Build the Power Life Community by facilitating, organizing and supporting events, specialty classes, workshops, and continued education opportunities.Provide excellent student experience by being available for student check-in process, membership sales, questions, etc. while you are present in the studio.Perform as a leader both inside and outside of the studio. Promote understanding and enthusiasm about Power Life and health and wellness in the community.Teach Scheduled Classes each week to form strong relationships with students and maintain your teaching skills. (Scheduled Classes may change based upon the demands of the studio.)Revenue Growth and Profitability
Responsible for continued revenue growth and profitability of the studio.Understand and monitor key business indicators that drive revenue while creating and implementing tactical plans to meet revenue goals.Plan and execute strategies that consistently bring students into the studio.Play a role in Teacher Training(s) : Identify and develop new instructors, promote training, and enroll trainees.Employ sound economic judgment when making spending decisions.Personnel Development
Participate in giving feedback to teachers to develop a high level of instruction.Align with and facilitate Power Life’s values, teaching methods, and fundamentals to promote personnel development and enhance the student experience.Hire, train, develop, and manage Trade Staff to assist with day-to-day operations.Manage all teachers in the market. Consult and follow up on teacher issues with Director of Operations or HR.Administrative
Maintain strong time management skills to strategically prioritize the day-to-day operations of the studio and adapt to daily business needs in the moment.Review, analyze, and complete requested reports and offer insight and solutions for actionable items from reports.Maintain all schedules, accounts, updates, and information in Mind Body Online.
