We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Assistant to provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in a group home setting. This role involves helping residents with daily living activities, ensuring their well-being, and promoting a safe and supportive environment. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and following dietary guidelines.
- Administer medications as prescribed and document accordingly.
- Support residents in community outings, recreational activities, and social engagement.
- Encourage independence while ensuring safety and supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces.
- Document daily activities, progress, and any incidents per agency policies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, healthcare providers, and family members.
- Follow all state regulations and agency policies to ensure the highest standard of care.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED required.1 year experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Certification, etc. (or willingness to obtain).Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting individuals with disabilities.
