Job Summary
We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of adults with autism and / or intellectual disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene needs, light housekeeping and errands, administering medication, behavior de-escalation and other tasks that improve the clients living environment and standards. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and reliable.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal hygiene needs and dressing
- De-escalate behaviors
- Light documentation
- Transportation to appointments and community outings
- Prepare meals and snacks
- Light housekeeping activities
- Administer medication
- Provide companionship
- Assist with errands and shopping
Qualifications
- Driver's License Required
- Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional, Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role is preferred
- First aid and CPR-certified Preferred
- ODP Medication Administration Training Preferred
- ODP / Relias / Related trainings or coursework Preferred
- Knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks and cooking skills
- Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects
