Aero Acoustic - Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer at Honeywell. Be part of a team applying expertise to mechanical projects, improving products and technologies, and refining design and validation methods. Honeywell is implementing advanced acoustic technologies across aerospace products and installations, including gas turbine engines, valves, motor-driven fans, environmental control systems, and electronics. Improvements in the fidelity and speed of simulations are essential to shorten development cycles while meeting customer requirements.
You will improve aero-acoustic analysis and test methods and support product design with these methods, including development of custom software tools and refinement of methods used with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tools. You will identify and advocate for improvements to existing COTS tools with vendors and monitor the industry for better tools to evaluate for potential use. You will also help design products to meet customer needs while ensuring quality and manufacturability at the lowest possible cost and weight, and you will direct the design, build and acoustic testing of prototype and early production hardware. You may serve as a project manager for smaller development projects.
Some products you'll support include export-controlled technology and may be supported by US Persons. Frequent interaction with internal and external customers requires proficient English writing, speaking and presenting skills. Your work will be integral to satisfying current customers and securing future business by meeting or exceeding Voice of Customer requirements.
