We are looking for a dedicated Property Front Office staff member to join a nonprofit organization in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As the first point of contact for residents and visitors, you will play a vital role in fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for an affordable housing community. This Contract to permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful mission of helping individuals transition to stable living.
Responsibilities :
- Greet residents and visitors with professionalism and provide assistance with inquiries or daily needs.
- Manage incoming calls using a multi-line phone system and direct them to the appropriate departments.
- Coordinate resident services such as package deliveries, transportation assistance, and access to shared spaces.
- Promote community engagement by encouraging participation in activities and maintaining organized common areas.
- Monitor building access points to ensure a safe and controlled entry process.
- Address conflicts or incidents calmly and report any safety concerns to management.
- Support the preparation of rooms for new residents and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in common areas, courtyards, and parking lots.
- Facilitate communication between residents and internal teams to address their support needs.
- Model respectful and collaborative behavior to reinforce a positive community atmosphere.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior experience in receptionist duties, hospitality, or resident support is preferred.
- Proficiency in handling multi-line phone systems and managing inbound calls is essential.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks involving prolonged standing or walking.
- Must obtain First Aid certification within 180 days of starting employment.
- A valid driver’s license may be required, depending on specific duties.
