Certifications : ARDMS, BLS (AHA)
Must-Have : Must be able to perform Echocardiograms with Definity Contrast.
Must be able to perform Echo and Vascular studies including TTE Echocardiograms, TEE, stress echo, venous reflux exams, venous dopplers, carotid doppler, arterial doppler, ABI, pericardiocentesis, thrombin injections, and vein mapping exams.
Able to start own IV.
MediTech Experience required.
Description :
The Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic exams and procedures in the Ultrasound department efficiently according to physician orders.
The Sonographer works effectively with patients and physicians while maintaining cooperative relationships with interdepartmental personnel.
Job Duties include completing studies in a timely manner and utilizing downtime to assist others as needed.
Exam charges and the late list are checked daily for the ultrasound department.
Organizing workload during high volume periods expedites patient care.
Communicating pending exams and pertinent information to other technologists is essential.
Assisting the physician with radiology procedures is part of the role.
Promoting positive relationships at the department level is important.
Concerns should be discussed with the supervisor while presenting the department positively to staff.
Maintaining supplies with a minimum inventory and developing new methods of supply utilization is expected.
Equipment handling must adhere to safety guidelines and policies.
A clean work area must be maintained, and equipment should be cleaned following established policies.
Exterior surfaces of machines must be wiped down after each workday and between patients as necessary.
Following call policies involves responding to callbacks promptly and arriving in the department within an appropriate time frame.
Willingly assisting with procedures in any area of radiology is encouraged.
Checking with co-workers during downtime for the need for assistance is important.
Following attendance and tardy policies is required.
Adhering to dress code and appearance policies is necessary.
Participation in required hospital and department in-services and meetings is expected.
Safety and infection control policies must be followed.
Performing other assigned duties by supervision may be required.
Current equipment includes Philips CVX Epiq machines and Vasculab ABI machines.
