PURPOSE AND SCOPE :

It is the responsibility of the teaching faculty to provide the learning activities and support that will lead to the achievement of the course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and the community. The faculty member's role encompasses the general areas of learning facilitation, professional development, and institutional service. Primary responsibilities are to plan, develop and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.

Commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

This full-time English faculty position includes a secondary assignment serving as department chair over multiple disciplines. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to : hiring, onboarding, developing, and observing adjunct faculty; assessing and utilizing key data to inform the annual course schedule in alignment with allocated funding or advocating for additional resources; ensuring essential documentation is completed and submitted promptly; and monitoring completion of all required training. Candidates should be prepared for interview questions assessing both instructional expertise and leadership abilities.
