What You'll Do
In order to be successful, the ideal candidate will :
Work Hours : Varies
Pay Grade : 16 (starting rate of $19.50 for this position). Incumbent is eligible for regular incremental raises in hourly rate tied to milestones in the training program. Eligible for three retention incentives starting second year.
Qualifications
6-12 months experience dealing with the public or an equivalent combination of education, military, or completion of a law enforcement / criminal justice program will be accepted .
Requirements
Sit-ups : 28 in one minute
Mile and half run : 14 minutes and 36 seconds
Following hire, must qualify for attend, and complete West Virginia Basic Law Enforcement Academy within one year. The academy requires the applicant to pass a physical examination and be within a certain height and weight range.
Must have and maintain a valid West Virginia driver's license.
