Overview

Adjunct Faculty - Computer Information Technology. Ivy Tech Community College is hiring an adjunct faculty member to teach Computer Information Technology. Location : Indianapolis. Job Type : Part-time. Classification : Adjunct faculty. Salary Range : $48.67 per contact hour. Reports To : Department / Program Chair.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Supplement and adapt lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
  • Engage with students proactively in meaningful and productive ways that impact learning and student experience at Ivy Tech.
  • Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on online learners.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner in line with College policies and expectations.
  • Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.
  • Promote an environment reflecting the broad backgrounds of students and employees where every individual feels respected and valued.

Education And Experience

A qualified faculty member in computer information systems is one who meets at least one of the following :

  • Earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in computer information systems, management information systems, information technology, computer science, or a related field appropriate to the course; OR
  • Related or out-of-field master's degree with 18 semester hours (or equivalent) in a computer, business, mathematics, or engineering-related field beyond introductory level; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, or a business / computer-related field with documentation in two or more areas such as professional certification, in-field experience, teaching excellence, research / publication, or additional coursework equivalent to 18 semester hours.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of in-field professional experience with Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure
  • Working knowledge of Linux operating system
  • Current CompTIA A+, Net+, or Sec+ certification
  • Extensive knowledge of virtualization
