Senior CAD Designer Civil Engineering | San Antonio, TX (Hybrid)

Overview

Were seeking a Senior CAD Designer to join our San Antonio office and support the design and production of civil engineering projects across South and Central Texas. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of site development and municipal infrastructure projects while collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and multi-disciplinary teams. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented designer who enjoys problem solving and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality plans.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop detailed civil engineering drawings for land development, municipal, and infrastructure projects.
  • Produce plans and construction documents for grading, paving, drainage, water, and wastewater systems using AutoCAD Civil 3D .
  • Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and external consultants to ensure accuracy and alignment across all design elements.
  • Perform quality checks and assist with plan reviews and revisions.
  • Support permitting and submittal processes with local and regional agencies.
  • Mentor junior CAD staff and contribute to maintaining and improving CAD standards and workflows.
  • Manage sheet setup, file organization, and adherence to company and client CAD standards.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in civil design / drafting for land development or public works projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (required); experience with MicroStation or other design platforms a plus.
  • Strong technical understanding of grading, utilities, drainage, and plan production.
  • Knowledge of local San Antonio and South Texas design standards preferred.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Associates degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience.
