What You'll Be Doing
Establishment and maintenance of US operating model related to delivering personal banking solutions from our Private, Personal & Digital Banking teams.
Operational management of US PP&D's business plan including effective controls, administration and business management.

How You'll Succeed
Provide leadership in the development and execution of a Private, Personal & Digital Banking operating model that aligns with CIBC's strategy and priorities and that mirrors CIBC's mission and values.
Collaborate with project team that is accountable to deliver on the implementation of a consolidated US Private, Personal & Digital Banking operating platform.
Assess and measure the effectiveness of US PP&D processes to identify operational effectiveness, potential synergies and integration opportunities while continuing to mitigate against operational risk.
Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and people to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of CIBC Private, Personal & Digital Banking.
Provide leadership support of key strategic programs and initiatives that will increase profitability, enhance client experience, and drive operational efficiency and productivity improvement.
Provide stewardship of and governance over US PP&D's risk culture and management approach working in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders across the three lines of defense (Legal, Compliance, Operations, Technology, and Internal Audit).
Partner with Legal, Risk Management, Operations and Compliance, to ensure that the regional needs are met with respect to effective controls, compliance, administration and general business management.
Partner with Risk Management in risk operations and resources on behalf of the business, ensuring effectiveness of process design, efficiency of operations and timeliness of weakness identification and correction.
Optimize levels of operating losses through design and continuous enhancement of operating control framework and risk measurement and monitoring systems.
Provide vision, strategic direction and leadership in the management of business effectiveness, controls and operational risk across PP&D US.
Understands and complies with internal policies, processes and procedures to effect prudent risk management and judgment. Recognizes relationship risk issues and seeks appropriate resolution.

Work collaboratively with internal partners and external professional advisors in identifying client needs and goals and developing advice-driven solutions for clients.

Understanding and following the qualitative and quantitative components of our Risk Appetite Statements.
Completing all annual Corporate Mandatory Training and Testing modules, as well as any additional business-specific modules, as required and employing the learnings in daily activities and undertakings.
Escalating matters through one of the appropriate channels identified in the CIBC Code of Conduct (i.e., HR, management, Ethics Hotline, Whistleblower, etc.) upon observing activities that may be inconsistent with CIBC's policies, frameworks, guidelines, processes and controls.
Speaking up if witnessing behaviors that drive poor or unfair outcomes for clients, team members or other stakeholders.
Escalating matters that can result in adverse market practices and outcomes, thereby negatively impacting CIBC's reputation as a leading financial institution.
Minimum years of experience : 10+ years and Bachelor's Degree.
Strong leader with an ability to drive the strategic direction and development of an effective operating model that implements the business strategy while achieving results.
Conceptual thinker with a proven track record in general business management, including managing human capital, DOE, incentive compensation, etc. and in-depth understanding of appropriate metrics and technology.
Ability to work in an environment requiring strong interaction and relationships across various groups including Risk Management, Legal, Finance etc.
Strong organizational and leadership skills sufficient to motivate and influence a large and inclusive group of individuals faced with significant organizational and procedural change, increasing competitive challenges and competing priorities.
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $230,000.00- $245,000.00 for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
