Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 01 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele Float position in California, requiring a CA license and two years of telemetry experience. Responsibilities Work in a hospital MS / Tele Float unit with potential to float to Med-Surg Patient population includes adolescents through geriatrics Caseload consists of general medical surgical, telemetry, and moderate volume orthopedic surgery patients, including total joint cases Average census of 36 with a 1 : 4 nurse-to-patient ratio Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM Every other weekend coverage is required No on-call responsibilities Responsibilities include caring for telemetry and Med-Surg patients and managing moderate volume orthopedic surgery cases Scrubs must be royal blue No RTO (requested time off) permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment Once RTO is submitted, it cannot be modified except for cancellations First-time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements Active CA RN license required Minimum two years of recent telemetry experience required Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required Ability to read and interpret ECG strips required Experience with post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, pre / post cardiac cath, and post-cardiac surgery care required Proficient in telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote) and managing dysrhythmias Experience with central and PICC line management, starting IVs, and blood product administration Experienced in non-titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, heparin protocols, and emergency response teams Competent in management of chest tubes, external CPAP / BIPAP, HFNC, nasal cannulas, non-invasive airways, oxygen masks, and tracheostomy care Total joint orthopedic experience required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627774.
