Traffic Engineers (all levels – EI, P.E. / PTOE, Sr-level P.E. / PM)

CTL Engineering is hiring Traffic Engineers at all levels (EI, P.E. / PTOE, Sr-level P.E. / PM). Location : Morgantown, WV.

Responsibilities

• Prepare signing, striping, temporary traffic control, signal, lighting and Intelligent Transportation construction plans and specifications to ensure compliance with standards and project schedule.
• Provide technical assistance to construction inspectors in the field to verify construction conforms to WVDOH traffic specifications / plans.
• Create, update, and archive as-built plans.
• Develop and implement traffic signal timing parameters in accordance with WVDOH standards.
• Perform operational and maintenance checks to ensure the signal functions correctly.
• Review construction plans for accuracy and provide comments to other functional areas.
• Gather data such as sight distance, safety, no passing, infrastructure inventory, Before / After, crash, etc. to complete special studies.
• Analyze traffic data for reporting, planning, and study purposes.
• Update and maintain crash information / databases and create detailed crash studies using Linear Referencing System (LRS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
• Assist with the analysis, scheduling, oversight, identification, and inspection of marking utility locations.
• Respond to customer inquiries by translating technical information into clear responses for the general public.
• Prepare signal, signing and pavement marking work orders for traffic modifications performed by maintenance within set deadlines.
• Assist with implementing traffic control plans in the field.
• Perform field review of operational conditions of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct field reviews to ensure lighting, signing, and striping (permanent and temporary) are implemented and conform to work orders, project objectives, and WVDOH specifications.
