Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC) is seeking talented, mission driven, and person-centered Behavior Program Assistant (BPA) to join our team. Operated by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, AMRTC serves adults with mental illness in a large, campus-based setting. Located just north of the Twin Cities metro area, this modern facility offers person-centered adult mental health care in a pleasant environment appreciated by patients and employees alike. A Behavior Program Assistant (BPA) assist with the coordination of unit programming, as well as facilitate skill building, educational, and peer support groups for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. BPAs serve as active members of the treatment team and assist in the development of individual treatment plan goals, objectives, and interventions. They also assist unit staff of varying levels of expertise in implementing and sustaining Evidence Based Practices that are focused on client engagement, behavior management, and group programming. These include, but are not limited to : Person Centeredness, Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment (IDDT) and Illness Management and Recovery (IM&R). In addition, individuals in this role perform various direct care duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must have :

1 year of relevant experience providing the following :

Providing services using person-centered approaches

Planning and facilitating therapeutic activities

Documenting progress in activities and interventions

Providing and reinforcing skill building in individuals

  • 1 year of relevant experience requirement may be substituted by a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or behavior analysis; the experience requirement also may be substituted by a bachelor's degree in human services or a related behavioral health field that includes substantial behavioral health coursework such as : individual or group counseling, clinical interviewing, clinical assessment, crisis intervention, or similar behavioral health courses.

Preferred Qualifications

One (1) year of professional experience working with individuals with serious and persistent mentalillness (SPMI)

Knowledge of behavior modification principles sufficient to participate in the planning and designing ofindividual treatment programs for assigned clients.
