Job Summary And Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Cath Lab provides direct patient care to a diverse population undergoing a variety of cardiac catheterization procedures. The RN collaborates with physicians, other nurses, and technicians to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of high-quality patient care. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, including obtaining informed consent, assessing vital signs, and administering medications as ordered.
• Assists the physician during the procedure, including monitoring hemodynamic parameters, preparing equipment, and managing supplies.
• Provides post-procedure care, including monitoring vital signs, assessing for complications, and administering medications.
• Maintains a sterile field and adheres to strict infection control protocols.
• Operates and monitors specialized equipment, including hemodynamic monitoring systems, fluoroscopy, and other related technologies.
• Administers medications and intravenous fluids as ordered.
• Documents patient care accurately and completely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and contributes to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
• Responds effectively to emergency situations and provides critical care as needed.
• Collaborates effectively with other members of the healthcare team.
• Maintains current knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and related technologies.
• Participates in continuing education and professional development activities.
• Adheres to all hospital policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications : ACLS preferred.

Pay Range

$47.12 - $79.59 / hour
