A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CIRCULATION SUPERVISOR

As a Circulation Supervisor, you spend your day receiving, inspecting, and selecting book donations. You assist with various library programs; serving as timekeeper for volunteers and students. You organize and display books, oversee the Café, oversee cash flow and make daily bank deposits. You d elegate and assign work to employees; provide training workshops; prepare and manage work schedules; interview and hire new employees; and evaluate performances. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include providing reports of circulation activity; report and record library attendance and hours of operation. You will also provide reports of children's, teen and adult programming statistics; and report and record equipment used for library functions. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support as needed. The city needs someone like you with great people skills in providing excellent customer service to all our customers, and finds genuine enjoyment in what you do!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN CIRCULATION SUPERVISOR

• Bachelor Degree or equivalent
• Preferred : Master's Degree in related field
• Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above requirements.
• Requires one (1) with library experience
• Preferred : Three (3) years' experience in related field.
• Requires at least three (3) years of supervisory experience
• Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.
• Applicant must take and pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the City's expense.
• Bilingual English / Spanish required.
