Night shift, 3x12-Hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 00). Every other weekend coverage is required.

Job Description

\n

The Open Heart Intensive Care Unit (OHICU) is a 10-bed unit providing care for critically ill and postoperative cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, and general surgery patients aged 18 and older. Registered Nurses in this unit will be responsible for managing complex patient cases, including but not limited to invasive hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management.

Responsibilities

\n

\n

  • Provide advanced cardiac life support and emergency interventions.

    • \n

  • Monitor and manage patients recovering from open heart surgery.

    • \n

  • Administer medications and manage continuous IV therapies.

    • \n

  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.

    • \n

  • Manage advanced equipment including ECMO, CRRT, and VADs.

    • \n

  • Conduct assessments and interventions for complex cardiac patients.

    • \n

    \n\n

    Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

    \n

    \n

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.

    • \n

  • Current certifications in ACLS and BLS are required.

    • \n

  • Experience with Epic charting system is required.

    • \n

  • Preferred : Trauma Level I experience.

    • \n
