Security Officer

Major Responsibilities :

  • Secures property and facility
  • Locks and unlocks facility doors
  • Conducts routine property walks
  • Inspect premises for signs of intrusion or tampering
  • Tour facility, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure
  • Interacts with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees
  • Secures the safety of all individuals on the premises
  • Works independently and judges and assesses situations for immediate response
  • Monitor security systems and cameras
  • Notifies appropriate members of management or emergency systems when necessary
  • Completes incident reports and logs as required
  • Responds immediately to emergency situations answer alarms and investigate disturbances
  • Keep a record of all keys and equipment that are signed out
  • Work extended and / or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications :

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising judgment and initiative
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to work irregular hours including night shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
  • Good decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Will be subject to acceptable background check

    • Computer Skills :

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some knowledge of computers including Microsoft suite
  • Additional computer training will be provided for advanced software platforms

    • Education / Experience :

  • High School diploma or GED
  • One year of security experience in a similar environment is preferred

    • Physical Demands :

  • This position will require walking, stooping, and climbing stairs; work in both indoor and outdoor settings; and may be subjected to adverse conditions, including encounters with hostile individuals
