Special Order Specialist

The Special Order Specialist is an individual contributor supporting the Merchandising department through detailed data entry and coordination of purchase ordersspecifically in support of the EDI Project. This role plays a key part in helping Cavender's meet sales, margin, and inventory goals by ensuring accurate PO input, product tracking, and product availability. Reporting to the Sr. Merchandise Planner, this position requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication. The role supports both internal and external customers and helps ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the "Cavender's Culture" and drive our mission, vision, and values
• Deliver on assigned goals within the Merchandising and Planning team
• Perform data entry and maintain purchasing system accuracy
• Input and maintain POs in coordination with the EDI project
• Maintain Excel spreadsheets and track PO-related data logs
• Handle internal customer service calls and respond to store PO requests
• Collaborate frequently with Buyers, Associate Buyers, Planners, and other merchandising partners
• Run and maintain reports related to purchase orders
