Overview
Experienced communications professional driven by Christian faith will increase Texans on Mission’s mission through strategic content development that will enhance brand visibility, promote volunteer engagement and increase fundraising. This self-starter with a desire to help people in crises will create written content for print and digital media, ensuring consistent messaging across channels and engaging audiences with compelling storytelling.
Position includes up to 30% travel to various places and situations where Texans on Mission volunteers are serving in the state, across the nation and around the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, develop, edit and publish creative and engaging content that adheres to AP Style and brand guidelines for print and digital media.
- Lead the creation of the Texans on Mission newsletter.
- Draft and manage ministry-specific email newsletters.
- Travel to disaster sites to do interviews with volunteers and survivors and photograph relief efforts.
- Implement strategic concepts and messaging within written materials.
- Maintain a consistent style, tone and brand voice across various channels.
- Share Texans on Mission stories with partner organizations and media outlets.
Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of corporate / nonprofit communications experience.Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a related field.Clear and effective writing skills with the ability to produce content for a variety of communication channels for both print and digital.Self-motivated decision maker and problem solver with a strong work ethic.Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Photography skills are a plus.Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance; Health Reimbursement Arrangement; generous time off; and retirement matching.#J-18808-Ljbffr
