This entry-level Software Engineer - Level 1 role will located at our Morrisville, NC site.

This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work . This position will work a 9 / 80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

In this job, you will :

Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and / or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.

Determine computer user needs : analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepare operating instructions; design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

Ensure software standards are met.

This position is contingent upon being able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Top-Secret (TS) / Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) level clearance. US Citizenship is required .

Basic Qualifications (must have / required to be considered) :

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret (TS) / Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance [ TS / SCI ] which requires US Citizenship ( clearance not required to star t)

Level 1 : (entry-level / Associate)

Bachelor's degree with 0 years of software development experience

An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed Bachelor's

Knowledge of C, C++, and Python

Knowledge of databases

Knowledge of Linux and Windows environments

Knowledge of engineering analysis and management

Preferred Qualifications (not required, but nice to have) :

STEM degree

Experience with MATLAB

Experience with SolidWorks

Primary Level Salary Range : $67,300.00 - $100,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and / or personal business.
