Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) at GAGE Construction supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from buyout through financial and contractual closeout. Working under the guidance of a Project Manager or Project Executive, the APM assists in overseeing daily project operations, facilitates communication with all stakeholders, and ensures the project stays on schedule, within budget, and meets quality and safety standards.

Client & Relationship Management
- Serve as a key point of contact for the client, design teams, consultants, and internal staff.
- Represent GAGE Construction professionally in all interactions.
- Foster strong relationships with current clients and assist in identifying future business opportunities.
Preconstruction & Planning
Assist with project kickoff, including scheduling and facilitating preconstruction meetings with clients, architects, and engineers.Support in permit acquisition and any required regulatory approvals.Collaborate with estimating and planning teams to develop conceptual budgets, schedules, and phasing plans.Participate in value management efforts to align project goals with client budgets.Buyout & Procurement
Coordinate the bidding process and support bid-leveling and scope review meetings.Develop bid packages and ensure clarity of scope for each trade.Maintain bid tracking and documentation using internal systems.Assist with subcontractor buyout and award process.Construction Phase Support
Work closely with the Superintendent and PM to develop and maintain detailed project schedules (including 3-week look-aheads).Track and process submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation.Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, project logs, and regular reports for internal and client use.Assist in monitoring project budget, cost reporting, and monthly requisitions.Coordinate and maintain up-to-date documentation and filing systems.Project Closeout
Support the completion of all financial, operational, and documentation closeout tasks.Assist with punch list management and owner training / document turnover.Coordinate project warranty follow-ups and post-occupancy support.Safety
Assist the Superintendent and PM in implementing and monitoring job site safety.Support preparation and enforcement of ICRA, PCRA, and ILSM protocols as applicable.Ensure timely reporting and documentation of any safety incidents.Operations & Quality
Monitor progress against budgets and schedules; report deviations proactively.Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities.Maintain a thorough understanding of GAGE Construction’s internal processes and standards.Support invoice review, accounts payable coordination, and project financials.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.1–3 years of experience in a construction management or assistant project management role, preferably in commercial or institutional construction.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Working knowledge of project management software (Procore and Bluebeam required).Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.Core Competencies

Work Environment
