Remote - Quarterly travel required for PI Planning (Northeast corridor,
typically Washington, DC or Wilmington, DE)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solutions Architect to join our team, focusing on the rail and transportation sector. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing and governing robust, scalable, and secure architectural solutions for complex business problems. You will act as a key liaison between engineering and business teams, translating intricate technical ideas into clear, digestible concepts. Your deep understanding of railroad operations and expertise in cloud and hybrid technologies will be crucial in ensuring our products and systems are not only performant and maintainable but also aligned with our strategic vision.
Responsibilities
Design, govern, and oversee the implementation of scalable, efficient, and secure architectural solutions for cross-domain business challenges.
Serve as the primary technical liaison, bridging the gap between engineering teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
Ensure that all products are scalable, secure, performant, and easily maintainable within their respective domains.
Develop and enforce reference architectures, standards, and guidelines to ensure organizational technology is secure, stable, and compliant with industry standards.
Apply deep industry knowledge of the rail and broader transportation logistics sector, including operational workflows for dispatch, scheduling, and asset management.
Utilize expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), hybrid stacks, data-driven solutions, and DevOps to drive continuous delivery and innovation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience successfully directing and delivering complex architecture initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and large-scale business transformations.
Experience as an architect for enterprises with revenues of $500M+ or more, providing technical vision and platform strategy.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple architecture projects and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve key results.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a self-motivated approach to working in an integrated team environment.
