Guardian Fire Protection Services, LLC., has been an industry leader for fire protection services in the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC area for over 40 years. We are based in Rockville, MD, with an additional office location in Baltimore, MD and have an excellent team of employees who are responsible for the design, installation, and inspection of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, kitchen fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and kitchen hood / duct systems. We have an extensive customer base with over 10,000 fire systems that we perform recurring inspection and repair services throughout the region. Our company is continually growing through its internal sales and marketing activities, strong reputation, and business acquisitions.

Opportunity

Guardian Fire Protection is currently hiring Apprentice for the Fire Sprinkler division. This is a great opportunity to learn a growing and in demand and essential trade. Guardian will train you to become a licensed, certified Fire Sprinkler Technician. We are looking for hard working and hands-on individuals that want to learn a new trade in the fire protection industry. The fire protection industry is in high demand and it can be a long term career that can provide a well paying income with training, certification and years of quality hard work.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and perform tasks in the fire protection field as part of the Fire Sprinkler division.
  • Receive training to become a licensed, certified Fire Sprinkler Technician.
  • Contribute to projects involving design, installation, and inspection of fire protection systems as directed by supervision.

Compensation

  • This is an hourly position and the pay rate is contingent on experience and background. It will be discussed during the interview process.
  • Potential Quarterly Bonuses
  • All hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am are paid at the time-and-a-half rate for every day of the week.
  • Salary : $20 - $22 per hour

    • Qualifications

  • A current valid driver's license with 3 or fewer points is required.
  • Three years of licensed driving experience is required.
  • Experience using a variety of hand tools such as channel locks and pipe wrenches.
  • Willing to work varied hours, nights, early mornings and weekend shifts when needed.
  • Capable and willing to learn and study about the different fire sprinkler systems to pass tests and become certified.
  • Must be comfortable working on ladders 6 to 12 ft and on lifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work overhead and in unusual or small spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
  • Skills to communicate well with customers and explain the work being done and any repairs that are necessary.
  • Skills to write well and be very detailed in your write up on service work.
  • Must be well organized and able to keep track of service tickets and process all required documents for each service performed.
