Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team in Chino Hills, CA. Environment : Special Education Program, Grades 8-12. Starting Salary : $68,640 - $74,000 per year based on experience.

Responsibilities
- Lead the instructional process for students in Grades 8-12 with IEPs, designing dynamic and personalized learning experiences within the learning center and / or classroom.
- Deliver targeted instruction using innovative curriculum resources, educational software, and comprehensive lesson plans aligned with state and school standards.
- Create an inclusive, collaborative environment involving students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Establish a classroom climate of mutual respect, fairness, and clear expectations; model PBIS to support social development and positive group interactions.
- Implement and reinforce PBIS strategies, behavior expectations, reward systems, and appropriate consequences.
- Track and document student progress, maintain accurate files, and generate reports detailing student achievements and activities.
- Deliver differentiated instruction individually or in co-teaching to meet IEP goals; adapt curricular content and approaches for diverse learning styles.
- Provide guidance to instructional staff on differentiation methods; use varied instructional methods and educational software to support diverse needs.
- Manage student caseloads, develop and implement IEPs, goals, and interventions.
- Prepare daily lesson plans and organize instructional materials aligned with curriculum standards and student objectives.
- Maintain a safe, organized classroom environment and manage supplies and resources effectively.
- Stay informed on current research-based instructional practices in special education and relevant subject areas.
- Respond to feedback from evaluations and observations; pursue ongoing professional growth.
- Support the school community by performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education, or related field.Meet state teaching license and / or certification requirements.Licensed currently or in process of obtaining an education specialist or special education teaching credential (Mod / Severe).Experience in curriculum development, differentiation and instruction, preferably in a special education setting.Knowledge of special education services and compliance for students with severe learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, and / or emotional disturbance.Experience with IEPs and proficiency in developing and implementing effective education plans for diverse learners.Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; ability to make independent decisions and handle emergencies calmly.Knowledge of technology including instructional software, Microsoft Office, database entry, and basic office equipment.Perks and Benefits
