Primarily responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing all of the types of electrical equipment required by our coal mining processes in and about the mine facilities in compliance with company policies, state regulations, federal regulations and applicable National Electric Code.
Pay Type : Hourly
Pay Range : $35.36 / hour
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot all coal mining equipment, hydraulics, electrical, conveyor systems, and diesel transportation units
- Determine the type and extent of repair work needed on various types of mining equipment
- Determine seriousness of problems and estimate time needed for repairs; obtain correct parts from warehouse
- Interpret maintenance manuals, booklets, work orders, and identify parts
- Must be able to read blueprints, schematics and hydraulic / mechanical prints efficiently
- Maintain and repair pneumatic equipment
- Perform work area housekeeping duties
- Determine work areas safe
- Observe all safety rules
- Responsible to perform required weekly examinations on assigned equipment to assure the equipment is in safe operating condition
- Maintain required records of weekly electrical examinations
- Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs low, medium and high voltage AC and DC motors, circuits and equipment
- Troubleshoots and repairs frequency motor drives, DC motor drives, atmospheric monitoring equipment, communications equipment and Programmable Logic Controllers
- Adapt and install new upgraded or substitute equipment or devices, as needed
- Must possess effective critical thinking and comprehension skills
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
EXPERIENCE :
Must have at least two (2) years of electrical experienceMust have an understanding of fiber optics / networkingJOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years of ageReliable transportationHigh School diploma or GED, preferredSuccessfully demonstrate mechanical aptitudeMust be able to work as scheduled and arrive to the worksite promptly to receive work assignment and prepare for the start of the shiftMust be able to work on / near moving equipment as required by jobMust be able to understand and grasp mining concepts and safety strategiesMust possess West Virginia Miner’s Certification & Underground or Surface Electrical CertificationMust be able to pass post offer drug test and background checkMust be able to successfully complete industry approved training coursesMust be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independentlyAbility to work in the United States without sponsorshipJOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
